By the way, talking about Mecklenburg, this one used to be displayed at La Pompelle. Is it still there? There was a tag mentioning the name of the lady who had donated it to the museum.

On the photos below, the frontline French trenches and the colonial troops you mentioned. The pictures were taken a few months later, but in the exact same sector. Whoever killed Franz Gaede and Otto Peters may be present in this group.

Yes, this helmet is of great interest, as it is a kind of ‘Probe’ helmet worn by 0ffizierstellvertreter, a field helmet for officers. Despite everything, there is a wide variety of models, as these helmets are a kind of Ersatz, Kriegsmodèle, with quite a few concessions or compromises due to the circumstances of war.

As for information about 0tto Peters, I am unable to find any. Only Argonne (Philippe) is able to do so.
