Mecklenburg-Strelitz

I had no doubt you would retrieve the amazing information on the "Christmas fights" you shared with me earlier, Philippe. You are better organized than I am. Many thanks.
On the photos below, the frontline French trenches and the colonial troops you mentioned. The pictures were taken a few months later, but in the exact same sector. Whoever killed Franz Gaede and Otto Peters may be present in this group.

Bruno, I see that you know the wonderful L´Argonnaute (y)
A real photographic treasure!
Philippe

Many thanks for these details on a very nice and uncommon (unique?) helmet, Clovis. Any hint as to the history of this Pickelhaube?
Good evening Bruno,
Yes, this helmet is of great interest, as it is a kind of ‘Probe’ helmet worn by 0ffizierstellvertreter, a field helmet for officers. Despite everything, there is a wide variety of models, as these helmets are a kind of Ersatz, Kriegsmodèle, with quite a few concessions or compromises due to the circumstances of war.

As for information about 0tto Peters, I am unable to find any. Only Argonne (Philippe) is able to do so.
