Fake or not? At least the depot mark matches the plate.

I dont like the shape of the helmet or the shape of the spike..it just looks wrong. The wappen looks bad also

I don't like this for a whole lot of reasons. It does however, bring back up the controversy about serrated Saxon cockades. These certainly have seen better days. =;

Its black isnt it? Its a Prussian one so possibly original, but not to this helmet, which I reckon was born somewhere other than Germany

the helmet shell looks odd to me in its shape/design and the inside leather lining doesn't seem to fit typically what I have seen as to be normal for these types of helmets. i would pass on it, overall first impression it looks bad.
 
Look at the bright side, gents. The last one of these we had on here, the plate was mounted on the BACK of the helmet, so I guess there's been improvement. Odd thing is, there's no rust on the helmet other than the chinstrap posts.. to me, that's like putting foundation make-up over a zit. Somebody's trying to hide something! [-X

A well-known fake. Comes in black and green flavors, but always with a saxon plate (as far as I know). The seller acknowledges he doesn't know for sure if it is an original...
