Hi All
This is something I recently acquired and I must admit it is something I know very little about.
I know these are heavily faked. So if you have your more of an idea about these than I do please give me an option.

These have been faked for so long that I'm not sure you can tell the difference. I've always stayed away from these because of that. The only documented original I've seen was embroidered onto an officer's uniform.
BTW - Wife's Uncle was an MG gunner during the war and never had this badge.
 
I have had a response from a collector that had researched the MG insignia. In his opinion this is a late warJunker made example. I’m happy with that 👍

As I understand it this is s MG specialist insignia, not all mg crews were trained as such.
