Here is another one of my interests, these mini swords or letter openers are in very good detail, they all measure between 6 inches and 15 inches in length.
The highlights are the the Kaiser and Hindenburg miniatures with engraved blades. These are somewhat rare, but the I ahve 2 really rare ones, one with all gold blade, and the other is the only one I have ever seen like this has gold and blued blade. There are also damascus versions which I do not have yet. These swords where made for visits made by the Kasier and Hindenburg to the City of Solingen. I have numerous differant engravings:
Sword 1 is larger at almost 11 inches long.
Blade is silver with Gold and blue panels, marked WEYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM &CO. SOLINGEN.
Side 1: JN DANKBARER ERINNERUNG ANDEN UNVERGESS LICHEN KASIERTAG JM BERGISCHEN LANDE AM 18 AUGUST1899 DIE ALTE WAFFENSTADT SOLINGEN HURRAH DEM KAISER.
SIDE 2: SEINER MAJESTAT DEM DEUTSCHEN KAISER UND KONIG VON PREUSSEN WILHELM II.
Sword 2 is shorter at ~9 1/2 inches in length
Blade is silver with gold plating, has knot
Side 1: DU SCHWEISTEST IN WTTERN GERMANIAS SCHWERT, DU SCHUFEST DAS REICH UNS IM WELTALL GEEHRT,
Side 2: DU SCHLANGST UM ALLDEUTSCHLAND EIN EHERNES BAND. WILLKO,,EN DU REICHSSCHMIED IM BERGISCHEN LAND!
Sword 3 is nickel enraved balde, with same slogan as #1 but in a differant format!
Sword 4 is again gold blade jsut like number #2
Sword 5 is a single fuller with no engraving.
There are so many variations on these and differant makers it is fun to collect. The other minitaures are versions of M89's, Navel, Uhlan etc.
