Minneapolis Show

Went to the Minneapolis show today, best show at that location that I can ever remember, lots of local dealers and collectors and a few national dealers like AGM etc.

Good stuff to buy, I got to the show later then I wanted and missed out on a very nice OR Prussian Reserve helmet, nothing rare, but had matching cover with Green R on it and well marked on inside. Same unit on inside of Uberzug and helmet, they have been together for a long time! On a positive note it went to a great guy and a fellow member of the forum.

Leaving the show I spotted this picture laying to the side of a table. asked the price and quickly purchased it. Large picture in a period wooden frame. it measures 28 inches by 19inches. And for the 115th!!!

All the best

James

Great find! :bravo: It is wonderful to see that fine items still show up at local shows. We are all on a treasure hunt and striking gold is always fun.

Great find on the photo, Jim. I guess I missed that one, and from one of my favorite regiments, too. I'm still looking for the 115th EM helmet.

Nice to see you and your family at the show, Jim.

Bob.

Thanks for the comments guy's, yes Randy it is the thrill of the chase!!

Bob it was great seeing you, Jerry, Gary, Dick, Alan etc. at the show, I wish I would have had more time, it was some dang hot in there!

I was still in shock finding out the 1945 Jeep out front was Jerry's!!

I am thinking about getting a table at the next show as my little guy is starting to show some interest in the hobby, he likes the sharp stuff right now(swords) nothing wrong with that as that is where I started.

The picture was sold to me by Bob Johnson from the Battlefield Books store, he is closing up shop and this picture was in his office since he was stationed in Germany in the 60's.

All the best

James

Hi James,

Congratulations on finding the great photo! I certainly missed out on seeing that at Bob's table as well! :( For all the chatting I did with Bob on Friday setup, he didn't say anything about bringing it to the show for sale. I'm glad to see it went to a good home! :D

It was really nice to see you and your family at the show, along with Bob E., Jerry, Dick, Greg, and the others. I was going to try to take a photo of all you guys sitting at Jerry's table, but I got tied up chatting with a visitor at my tables, and by the time we finished talking, all you guys had left Jerry's table.

Yes, it was way too hot & stuffy in the building. It's either too hot in there, or freezing cold (no joke) like it was for the last two shows there. The building has no climate control inside, only the sunshine outside which heated up into the 80's which is very unusual for the Twin Cities the end of September. We're either sweating, or wearing winter jackets and gloves with that venue.

All the Best,

Alan

Excellent photo James....one of those scoops that you will always remember whenever you look at it. Congrats!
