Missing Chinscale End

Does anybody have the (male) end of a brass chinscale lurking in their spares box?

I've just received a rather nice Bavarian pickelhaube that has the end of one chinscale missing. As the other (receiving) end has a slot rather than a keyhole shape I assume it's an elongated button that you turn rather than a round one.

Hope the picture works and you can see what i'm talking about

Thanks all

Yes, Unfortunately this seems to be the weak point on all scales, either the end fitting is gone or that piece and the next 3 small scales. There is a Polish company on German Ebay who makes good repros and he will sell you just the single male/female locking scales.

Hi Brian
Thanks very much. Is that spikehelmets.pl? I’ll give them a try and let everyone know how it goes.
All the best

Yes that is the guy. I emailed him describing what I wanted as..."the T shaped" end fitting and I received them no problem. It did take awhile though naturally for them to reach me in Canada.

I have used "spikehelmets.pl" they are very good a selling parts not listed on the site... and the quality is very good.
