This 2th example is the one complete with the metal top.

I loved it at the first glance because of the hard to find metal top, but also because it is nominative. with it's label and really a lot of markings on the neck-guard.

This helmet belonged to corporal Meyer of the 3th mounted company of the 1th infantry east asian regiment. "Gefreiter MEYER 3 beritt. Komp. 1.O.A.I.R." (I. Oest Asia Infanterie Regiment).

As we said, numerous are the markings on the rear visor. On the left we can recognize the date and the stamp of the east asia expeditionary corp "B.A.O - 1906" (BekleindungAmt. OestAsia).

On the upper right " 1 beritt. 1.A.K. 9.Komp. and in bottom right "3. Battl. 1901". ⁰0

I counted at least three overlapping series of markings which testify the complex operative utilize of this helmet. Really a great apparently confusion.

For duty or campaign purpouses the spike and the eagle can be removed. The upper ventilation hole was closed with a special field gray metal top.View attachment 29712View attachment 29713
