Fellow Pickelhaube nuts, I have had to make the hard decision to let go of my M1842 Officer's helmet. I am thinking this is probably the first one offered for sale on this forum.

I believe this piece dates to the 1850s, some time after the introduction of the 'Colberg 1807' bandeau to the 9th Grenadier Regiment in 1849. There are no names or markings that I can see inside.

The front visor is loose, but after sitting on its visors for what must be 150+ years, that makes sense. Otherwise the rest of the helmet is extremely solid. Truly as if you pulled it out of a time capsule!

I am wanting to get $4500 for the helmet with shipping included within the US, extra to be shipped overseas. I am willing to negotiate on the price and also willing to work out a payment plan, as I know that is a considerable chunk of change.

Don't miss your chance to own this rare helmet!

Beautiful piece !!!

Too bad my coffers are a little bare right now.

I WOULD LOVE TO ADD THIS TO MY COLLECTION. :D :D :D
