Offered for sale is a nice Prussian enlisted pattern Model 1915 Guard Shako.

This was probably a "Liberty Bond" shako, as it shows very little to no wear to it.

The black finish is very nice on the exterior.

Liner is super nice with no rips or tears to the tongues, and the tongues are flexible.

Chinstrap is Original.

National Colors Kokarde is Original, and in great condition.

Prussian Feldzeichen is Original, and in excellent condition with no mothing. The feldzeichen is actually the model for the Husaren Busby, as the wire is angled in a "V" shape. It displays nicely with this shako.

No extra holes behind frontplate. The two original steel grommet holes are intact, and wappen is held on by two leather wedges.

Maker Marked: "Alexandar Dahl, Barmen", size "56" marked, and "1916" I believe is the date. The last digit is either a "6" or a "5".

The stitching on the top rear area of the shako has come loose as seen in the photos.

The underside of the back visor has an area where it apparently got wet at some point of time in the past. I show this in the photos. The area has turned dark, and the leather is stiff in this darkened area.

Other than these two things I have pointed out, the shako displays very well, and looks great.

Price: $1,200.00 or "Best Offer" plus Postage.
