Hey Peter,
Thanks for sharing your fine collection of helmets, these are all getting harder to come by, not because they are not out there, but because one must hold them in their hand and be very knowledgeble about them or they will own a copy.
Best wishes
Gus
PS, it is too bad that we do not know anyone who is a writer who could use your collectin to write a very good refferance book on world helmets. he he

I've tried to pitch such a book. It is depressing that I can't get any interest! :x

Yes, I know,
There are only about two dozen helmet freeks in the whole world, and most of them are too cheap to cough up a "C" note for a good book.
Best wishes
Gus

A C note is hard to spend on a book , when it get me another helmet. But know i can buy it if it is for sale in US funds :D
Mark

Yeah sure Mark,
Make fun of our ugly money, I would never make fun of your money (OK I have in the past, but I will not in the future, not because I am nice, but because it is pretty and it is doubtful that it will ever be lower that the ugly green paper we have here)
Gus

Some beautiful pieces here Peter. I also collect French stell helmets and will post some pics once I have worked out how to post pictures!!

Cheers

BTW I found a nice reference site for steel helmets a while ago. I use it for looking up less known models, e.g. from eastern europe.

Its Spanish. Just select a county in the footer, click "VER FICHA" beside one of the helmet models and run the text through Babel Fish or whatever.

For example, they have a nice picture of finnish soldiers with ear-cut M18 helmets:

Great photos guys! The Vichy helmet included; it is after all part of the Adrian family history and I don't see anything inappropriate with it... we're all mature collectors here :)

All I have is an M26 French Inf. Adrian which seems to have had a post-war liner replacement due to leather color? :-k
(at one point, I had to replace the broken front liner rivets with screws  )

Since it was quite cheap, I recently bought a nice WW2 near-mint French C-38 Gas Mask to pair with my lonely Adrian:

Hi

I am not specialist in Gasmak but this one looks like a French "ANP 1951" ??

About Adrian, have a look here: http://www.terraculturae.com/pages/armee-francaise/les-casques-adrian-modele-1915-mle-15/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Salut Eric,
Il s'agit bel et bien d'un masque à gaz de la Seconde Guerre.
This is a C-38 with numerous inspection dates beginning in "15 avril 1941" until "13 oct. 1964". Here's more closeups:
