On many or Mr. Uhlan’s items. I often see the correct sill liner is missing.
This is typically replaced by some kind of new cloth replacement, always recognizable by the stitching along the inside of the sweat band.
I have never seen this cloth type or stiching on original pieces.
I suspect Mr. Uhlan is busy sewing Mrs. Uhlan’s old lingerie into the inside of helmets as a poorly constructed replacement.
Is this a correct observation?
