You know I always wondered about that cover too , It was on a Prussian officer helmet ,the third helmet I ever bought , and the guy I bought it from was obsessed with finding helmets who fought in the area here , maybe he helped that search a little , and he is known to be untrustworthy.
The letters are stitched by hand, unlike the others who are stitched by machine. :-k
