Here it is; my Dec update for Kaiser's Bunker, something special, my version of "The Grail", a helmet I never thought I would find due to the rarity.

Only one little Battalion wore this Tschako from 1871 to 1903. This is the 2nd I have seen since I bought my first Pickelhaube back in 1973.

Although having said that, Col Ron, Reservist1 and Joe's Mr. X will post 10 photos of 10 examples.... (sigh).

Please take the time to check out all the photos at this link, especially the close-up of the little Württemberg Wappen. It is a cherry.

Excellent shako T. One really wonders how these things have survived in such fantastic condition 132 yrs is a hell of a long time. However, it has fallen into expert hands plus the "bunker" is a decent place to hang out for another 30yrs or so. B

Tony:

Marvelous that you set your sights on something, wait, hunt, and come up with exactly what you wanted in superb condition.

Congratulations.

David

Hi Tony,

Is this the one you nabbed on eBay about 2 months ago?

A real testament to studying hard and biding your time; a real gem!

Well done!

Cheers,

Laurie
