I would like to see pictures of your Arty Hessian if that's possible. :)
Mine has also black patches on the inside were the old holes were, just like on Amy's helmet 2.

I really like the different charistaristics of Hessian M15's.
Here are some more detailed pictures of mine, so you can see how the old holes were plugged up by the Bekleidungs Instandsetzung Amt, several markings which are in the helmet.

I like the way this is getting more a discussion about differences in M15 Hessians.
Maybe there would be an interest in starting an M15 dedicated subforum here on the forum.
They are a specialty in itself it seems.
