Hi guys,

this is my latest buy a 1915 IR170 Marked size 54 Baden m15. Members from another forum already told me that the spike could be a later added one. It is very loose so it is probably not the original one. I hope you like the helmet.

Congrats, nice helmet. If you are concerned about the spike, check the colouration and patina of all the fittings. Model 15s come in different fitting colours. just because the spike is loose does not mean that it is not original to the helmet. If the colour matches then thats all you need. Brian
 
Looks like a fine haube to me. Sometimes colors of the spikes and plates don't match exactly, but nevertheless are original to the helmet...
This is possible when a spike is a period replacement. It was also possible with new helmets because the different parts where produced seperately or sometimes by subcontractors...
