My new Wurttemberg officer's helmet

Hi all,

Here is my latest aquisition. It arrived in the post yesterday. Purchased from Weitz in Hamburg.

It is a Wurttemberg officer's helmet, from a Train battalion. Lots of original gilding still present. There is also written in pencil an original name, but I can't make it out: "Walter", maybe?

Any other regiment or background info you can suggest is highly welcome!

Anyway, I loves it. It is my nicest pickelhaube so far, and it now has a new home in Australia, half a world away from Wurttemberg.

Pretty good condition. An M15 of this one is on my list...

The spike wouldn't be removable from its base would it?

Thanks people! Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. My display area is right outside my bedroom, and every night as I turn the lights off before I head into the bedroom it makes me happy to see this new addition
