My only Mutze...

My only Mutze,... from the same source as my damaged Hanoverian but in surprisingly good condition! Not so much as one moth hole! My wife is a theatrical costumier and tells me that the velvet band on this is the finest quality velvet she has ever seen - not available in our throwaway society! Obviously Saxon, obviously reservist, but I have no idea of the regiment. The white silk liner is a little dirty and has seen some use, as has the leather sweat band, unfortunately no monogram and no crowns!
Apologies for the dark pictures, my available lighting makes it difficult to distinguish between the black velvet and the very dark green of the body. The small brass button at the rear of the liner is unmarked and here are no maker marks at all that I can see.
Ideas on regiment gratefully recieved,
Cheers all,
Steve

One Schirmmütze is better than no Schirmmütze.

CORRECTED: Kgl. Sächs. Schützen (Füsilier)-Regt. Prinz Georg Nr.108 (Dresden) XII Armee Korps

Kgl. Sächs. 1. Jäger-Batl.Nr.12 (Freiburg) XII Armee Korps

Kgl. Sächs. 2. Jäger-Batl.Nr.13 (Dresden) XII Armee Korps

Kgl. Sächs. 2. Jäger-Batl.Nr.15 (Disbanded 30 March 1900)

Do you mean Regt 108, not 107, Tony? "Kgl. Sächs. Schützen (Füsilier)-Regt. Prinz Georg Nr.108, (Dresden) XII Armee Korps" (From your excellent site, which I constantly use as reference).

Cheers

...from Rastatt again.

PS Great Schirmmütze by the way, Steve!

Thanks Tony and Chris, as always deeply impressed with the depth of your knowledge and willingness to help out. Just sorry my rotten pictures do not do it true justice, this really is a most beautiful thing, I am almost afraid to touch it and keep it in three boxes - one inside the other- to avoid the dreaded moth. Many thanks again,
Steve
