My second expirience on restoration

This helmet was damaged very hard. Unfortunately it was impossible gently to come back the helmet at ideally form, because the leather decreased. Also it needs to restitch both piece of leather on the sides, back visor and back side of the sweatband. Now the back visor is another. All stitch find old holes except two new holes on the center of back visor because there leather decreased. And finally approx 20% of new finish. All process took more than 4 months.

Thank you. Here is images with plate. The chinstrap are moved for restoring.

For myself, on my restorations I always use ordinary Kiwi Parade black shoe polish.

Great and rare helmet .
Sure worth doing .
Years ago that was about the 2nd helmet that I bought
Hessian F A R 25 officer with the star
my helmet also had a black parade bush .
I paid $ 250.00 U S Dollars for it then .
I don't think that I could repeat that deal today .

Great job!

That looks like a very tall kugel, can I ask what is the measurement from the base to the top of the kugel?
