Mystery Truppen

Came across this pc recently, and the unit these truppen belonged to were a mystery. I did some reference work, and searching thru Kaiser' Bunker found the answer (Thanks for the fantastic reference tools Tony!).

So here it is, person who guesses the unit get's one of the famous virtual pickelhaubes.com beers. Have fun!



One hint: Cancellation was 18.1.09 (Jan 18, 1909.

M95 w/ white Haarbusch & Garde wappen


Soldat armed w/ Karabiner 88, not an infantyman's Gew 98 or Gew 88. Helmet has Garde wappen, is not artillery, train, mounted trooper. Has Garde litzen on Collar.


Fellow that is standing has a pair of goggles & a drivers uniform. Shame that none of the shoulder straps are readable.

These Reservists are Verkehrstruppen (transportation troops) from the Royal Prussian (Garde Korps) Kraftfahr Btn. 1 Kompanie.

If the shoulder straps would have been visable, we would find the letter K.

I have this right those guys are active not reserve. They are "draftees" and have so many days left until they are released in reserve status.
