When asked what the difference was between an NCO sword and an enlisted sword, he replied, "the large basket guard instead of a slimmer guard with no basket."

Looks like he has an enlisted man's KD89 for sale.

The "slimmer guard with no basket" sounds like a pattern often used for export.

Beats me where they get these ideas.

At least it's not another "officer's sword" or a "Confederate officer's sword." :D
 
Agreed! This is an issued trooper's/EM's Cavalry Degen. Much nicer than the Private Purchase ones IMO. And like you said, the ones without basket are the export versions.
This seller, although a fairly cool guy with no hastle return policies, often 'exaggerates' his descriptions and sometimes sells fakes (like the Trench Knife I once posted here and returned back to him). Moreover, all knots he sells are 'Imperial' when these are mostly Third Reich...
