NCO?

Didn't you guys know? There were no Privates in the Imperial German Army. According to ebay sellers, the entire army was made up of NCOs and officers.

Tony is right, this must be a general's helmet:) There are a lot of people who think that it it has brass fittings, it must be for an officer, but then there are a few collectors that still thing the reason they switched to steel fittings was to make them less visible.

And every sword belong to an officer, too. :)

At least it is easy to know which Lugars and P38s belonged to Göring and Himmler during WWII, they are the crome plated ones:)

You guys are terrible. lol I remember my Danish grandfather saying, "They were called 'Junker Helmets' because they were trash and nobody wanted them." Boy.... don't I wish.

During NATO-Manoeuvres in Germany in the 1980's:
All 'Alte Kameraden' were Panzerfahrer...Tiger...
No Infantry in the German Army...

One guy showed me his pictures of the Eastern Front and his EK I: PanzerGrenadier...Hanomag, and told me about the winter in Russia...but only after 1/2 a bottle of Apfelkorn each..Didn't remember a lot the morning after...

  I had an old guy show me his EK2 and kept saying that he wanted me to meet his Dr. At least that is what my brain told me. But rather than introducing me to the doctor he introduced me to his Tochter-- his daughter who looked something like a potato! I was young and even more stupid than I am now. :tool: :tool: :sign3:

looks like a nice untouched helmet with great markings, but not NCO.

BA 18 would make sense–well at least RBA 18–does anyone see the Mark? Am I just being dense? Just curious as to whether it has Arabic or Roman numbers.

When I used to drive tanks for re-enactments, an old fellow came up and listened to the Sherman I was idling. He said, "That doesn't sound very good... my tank was louder." I asked him what he crewed, he said, "One of these, an M26 Pershing, in Korea."

I"ve met a few Panzer Truppe, most were on 'The Sturmgeschutz'... I never met any Tiger crewmen. Oh well, it's always nice to talk to vets, especially brother tankers.
