Need Info on Garde Shako

At a regional militaria show today I looked at an interesting officers type shako. It bore a very large Garde star as one would expect to encouner on a Garde Lobster Tail. Small loops and leather tabs secured it through the only two grommeted holes through the Shako. It also had interesting vent holes in either side of the helmet. I can not recall further details now but will see it again tomorrow. If responses here warrent it I will do a better examination tomorrow.

The vent-holes were not the little black mesh dealies?

No mesh, not police. As I recall they were trimmed in bright nickel.

I revisited it today and studied the vents more carefully. They are probably correct. It is a good officer type with only the leather of the liner remaining, good tight visors and fixtures, repro leather chin strap and cockades. I reexamined the interior and found two plugged holes in the front.
