New addition MGK helmet?

Hi All
Here is the latest addition to my collection,a friend of mine has had this helmet shell for a while and recently passed it on to me. Any insight into the naming would be appreciated!

I have had it suggested by a fellow collector and researcher that this helmet is from No 1 MG crew 57 Reserve Infantry Regiment

Nice with a name in it and its regiment ,was not done offten but you have to find them in te first place

Congratulations, that is a very nice piece with excellent markings! Perhaps we can get Col. Joe to create an MGK marking section in our archive. The only MKG item I ever had was a beautiful K98 sawback marked to an MGK unit. Unfortunately, it had to be sold in a marriage break up. The scabbard was WW2 and obviously the Canuck who scored it just grabbed the knife on his way by. The antique dealer added the scabbard.
