New book on WW1 Ottoman Army from Partizan Press

I envy the Italian/English text. I would like our next book to be English/Dutch but it does not seem to be in the cards.

Do you know anything about the military marches of the Ottoman Empire? I'm asking because I am starting to work on an article on the history of marches and the Ottomans are believed to have had the first true "marching band." The most famous of the Turkish marches is "Ceddin Deden."

Today there is still a Janissary Band (I guess they're not true Janissaries) that performs at the military museum in Istanbul.

What is truly fascinating is that the band played with the Red Army Orchestra - Great piece:
