New strap for the collection

That ironically is the one I am missing in Dunkelblau. EB Nr. 4 was raised in 1913 so light grey Waffenrock straps are are to find, as you can see, as it's missing.

Posting on Christmas Eve? Isn't today your birthday Steve? Shouldn't you be doing birthday stuff? My excuse is that although it's Christmas Eve I am slightly intoxicated....

Tony ;
So on this early Waffenrock the shoulder straps did not yet carry any numbers .
After that did they not go to Roman numerals ? Then later E 1 ; E 2 ;E 3 & E 4
I can understand why a pre war E 4 start would be hard to find
I wonder if Chip had one ?
In looking at the Bulgarian Fahna card album I thought that I saw E 4 was only a Batl.
Is that correct ?
Steve

Tony ;
In that photo I see a Bavarian uniform with a strap # 5
While I am not too much on Bavarian items in general
Is that a uniform of an Officer Stellvertreter ?
That is really nice
I have a Wurttemberg I R Officer Stellvertreter Waffenrock
You know that I am crazy about that rank
and I buy what straps that I can

Yes. No numbers when Eisenbahn was formed. The Eisenbahn Regt. Waffenrock is my earliest Imperial tunic. It’s in the text if I recall.

Eisenbahn Regt.Nr. 4 was a Regt. and 4. Btln was Württemberg as you noted above. First three Battalions wore Garde. According to Lainé who has never been wrong in 35+ years of having his groundbreaking book.

In the 1980s Chip was into Dunkelblau uniform straps but absolutely later focused on Feldgrau. I did the opposite. Sold most Feldgrau and focused on Dunkelblau 1914. Ironically Chip wanted items I have and I coveted items he had (like his M15 2.LHR Nr2 strap) but we were both too stubborn to let anything go. Too late now.

I did one trade with Chip
and I had to give him 2 straps for his one
But I am glad that I did
Saxon U R 18 Officer with double underlay
I have ever seen another one
and it completed my Uhlan Officers collection
If I did not do that trade then the party is over
who knows where that strap might have ended up
