Not a helmet this time, a cool painting

Just received my latest item, from Alaska of all places. A nice Imperial officer oil painting. Measure around 20x25 in frame.

Upper right corner of painting is artist I think? K Hamburg 1917, or is this soldiers name? weird place for artist to sign.

The tag on the back of the frame says Vergolderel / Bilderrahmen - Fabrik - Hermannsdorfer / MANNHEIM T2,1, also on back of frame on bottom written in pencil is Kauffmann.

I would love any feedback or information anyone can give on this painting. I am no art expert, but I do love this piece.

Thanks

James

This would will nice on a wall in any Imperial-collection room. :thumb up:
It boggles the mind how this painting ended up in Alaska.

Sorry I can't help you... I'm no art expert at all. What I do know is that it's really nice. That painting would fit very well on my imperial wall :-" ...

An excellent addition to your collection James. I am not up on my visor caps...what branch of service is indicated by the grey band across the visor? Perhaps Spikey Mikey our resident artist/collector can shed some light on this. I would PM him James...he is a professional artist in the UK.
