Yes of course... Mr S Holmes the famous detective. :) Regarding tailoring, not much space there for even a couple of extra pounds! They did like them tight though back in those days.
 
I know that some of the uniforms worn today by the drives of the State carriages are from Victorian times. They have to select soldiers who fit the uniforms. For the last couple of weddings and occasions, when the carriages were used, they had to get female soldiers. As most of the males were too large.
