Hi Gents,

I am searching for all informations you could have concerning Hans Westermaier, Oberarzt der Reserve, June 1918 seriously wounded (he lost one leg), died on the 03.10.1938.

He was owner of the first class bayerischen Militär-Sanitäts-Ordens (06.09.1917) and served in the 3. bayer. Infanterieregiment.

Thank you guys! :salute:

Philippe

Hi Garde-Ulan,

Yep, his cap has found the way to my home \:D/
Together with some original picts of DR Hans. One of them (very small but very sharp) is showing him with the cap during summer 1915 in a trench in a wood near Maslomencze (Poland).
I will bring this pict to a photograph to enlarge it and fully see the details!

Hi Philippe,

Great, congratulations!

The cap looked just great on the pictures.

By the way, my great-grandfather served as medical officer in the Bavarian army in WWI.

Unfortunately my grandmother threw many of his things away after WWII. From his uniforms she tailored trousers for my father and my uncles.

Anyway, some stuff survived...

Hi Garde Ulan,

In which bavarian unit did your great grandfather serve during WWI?
DR Westermaier served in the Bayr. IR.3 (Augsburg), I. Bataillon. He was Bataillon-Arzt.

Yes, the cap is just looking great! No moth holes at all and in a very good shape.
I will take some picts as soon as I will have the enlarged version of Dr Westermaiers pict with the cap.

GU, are you still living in Germany? Bavaria?

Philippe

Hi Philippe,

My great-grandfather served in Bayerischen Reserve Infanterie Regiment Nr. 14.

And yes, I'm still in Germany...
