Oberst (Colonel) of Hussars - ID owner

Would anyone be able to direct me to a resource that would give the names of officers of the rank of Oberst in a Hussar Regiment during WW1? I would think there would be very few Hussar officers reaching the rank of colonel and still in a Hussar unit, or wearing the uniform of a Colonel of Hussars during the war.

So, I saw this amazing looking Attila for a colonel offered and was thinking, maybe we can ID the owner based on ranks, ribbons, loops for awards, and the regimental color of the shoulder boards…. DARK BLUE UNDERLAY

Although this doesn't seem to help, officer attilas for both HR3 and HR17 did not have frogging on the lower pockets (a carry-over from the pre-war attilas). Also, the crown buttons were either brass or silver, based on the pre-war frogging. This one appears to be silver...
 
Hi Dave, it’s been hard to determine. I do think the subdued button is silver gray.
 
Charles, The ribbon below the EK2 is either for the Mecklenburg Order of the Wendish Crown or the Mecklenburg Military Service Cross 2nd Class. It would seem that there must be some wartime tie-in between your husar colonel and Mecklenburg. The only Mecklenburg cavalry units were DR 17 and 18, both part of the 4. Kav. Div (17 Kav Brig). The two husar regiments also part of the 4. Kav. Div were HR 15 and 16 (18 Kav Brig). HR 15 had dark blue piping and HR 16 had cornflower blue piping. Both had silver buttons for the shoulder boards. Perhaps look for the military awards for the commanders of those regiments and see if the Mecklenburg awards are there...
 
Hi Dave, I was thinking if the Mecklenburg connection too. A great number were awarded but the fact he decided to wear the ribbon next to the EKII suggest he had ties to Mecklenburg.
The officer’s underlay colors sometime seem to follow the enlisted man’s mantel strap color. I don’t recall without looking up the dates when officers began wearing colored underlay on their field gray attila.
