Officer Spike Variations

The unique Hessen Officer spike:

Very different from the Bavarian or Prussian General, note also the lack of star studs and pearl ring.

Thanks John, I never pass up any officer parts for sale unless they are crazy expensive! Consequently, I had some bases to show the different thread/hole sizes, two model 1867-70's and a couple of complete spikes from 1890-1900. During my long collector career, I have managed to buy 3 spike tops that fit bases that I had bought on "spec" :) .Obviously, it is all a just a matter of luck and perseverance :eek:
