Officers helmet ebay Germany

Hey Roy,
There are a few thngs about this listing that make me step back, first, the seller has private feedback, and has had none in the past year, this is not always a bad thing, I have done business with a seller in Poland who has private feedback, and have gotten some good deals because others will not bid.
Second, there are a few features on the helmet that I find to be inconsistant with an item of the age this should be, the brass revit on the bottom of the spine does nt looke right to me, but I can not really say why. The star bolt on the spike base at the back (lower left photo) is miss shapen, the points are bowed up. The Brunswick Kocard looks to be too bright to be original.
Third, the seller's name does not instill confidence.
This is a high end helmet, that when encountered in person, requires very close look to avoid getting stung.
Best wihses
Gus

I see the item has been removed but having been stung myself in the past check out this thread on the German Helmets Walhalla forum.

Hi.

There's a firm in Germany that produces IR92 skulls.

The lack of details described on the other forum is visible in this replica on the repro site:

The German-made replicas are electroformed copper.
If there's not a coat of nickel applied first, the copper will probably bleed through the silver at some point and create an odd reddish tint to the skull, too.

They also sell the skull without a ribbon at the bottom to go with a Reserve cross.

Regards,
Brad
