Hi folks,
I would like your thoughts on this pickelhaube of regiment number 91 of the Oldenburg infantry, I think it's ok but I thought I'd better run it past you guys before I go and do something I regret.

Thanks for your swift reply, much obliged, unfortunately the images are all I have to go on at the moment, I have asked if there are any extra holes coming through the helmet for the plate and he said no, I take it the star would have it's fixings to the the plate rather than coming into the helmet it's self.

Kev: Here are some pics of originals that I have in my collection, the first two, my Inf. officer, an OR's and then the Oldb Dragoner which is part of our forum logo:







You can see the difference in the star/shield combination between your potential purchase and mine. Your shield looks out of proportion to the star backing it.....too small. Perhaps others can contribute here with pics of their wappen, we all know there are no hard and fast rules in the world of pickelhaube construction.
 
Here is another one. The star on Kev's helmet is definitively larger, relative to the central emblem, than anything else I have seen so far. This being said I do not know if it was an officer's fantasy or if it is a reproduction.

This is the reason I stopped collecting officers ; Very hard to find certainty.
