This looks very nice, at first, but upon closer inspection I would have a couple of questions.
The rear spine has a very "low slung" vent.
The stitching looks odd.

What does everybody think?

John :?

Looks like the rear visor was re-stitched .

I would agree about the rear spine. It has some weird attachment on the visor and the vent is slung low.

The color of the brass matches but I think it looks like a repro spine.

I do not like the marks too [-X And the red shining of the center...And many other things....

Yes, I am very suspicious. If it is a fake, it's a good one. Most likely a parts helmet. Just my opinion.
I don't understand what you mean by "the red shining of the center".

John a red tinge to metal on a Wappen is one of the red flags (pun intended!) of a Galvano replica.

I could not have explained it better :D

This helmet is a big fake, no doubts about it. About the marking, on such a helmet, it´s always better to find the special marking OJR91 in the shell. If not, always dangerous...

Thanks Guys,
This one caught my eye, but like you, I saw that it wasn't quite right. I did not know that Galvano copies had a red tinge. The only Galvano copy that I have ever seen was silver in color. I don't remember that it had any red color to it, but the reverse side was an absolute mess. The thing I noticed first on this helmet was the spine.

John :)

Not too many bidding on it either. Not only the warning signs spotted by you guys, but also the lack of a photo of the back of the plate is a warning sign as well... especially with screw posts. No reason not to show the back unless, as you've noted, it's a fake.

I need to express my sincerest gratitude to members of this forum. I just added a comment to another "Ebay items" thread and I remembered some of the mistakes I had made in the past. This Oldenburg helmet captured my interest, and had it not been for this forum, and websites like Tony's and Joe's, I might have purchased it.
I would have been sorry, after-the-fact, when it was too late.
If I ever question anything, or if I am not absolutely certain that an item is original, I will always bring it up in this forum first.

Thank you,
John
