Hi Andrew,
I'll throw out a few opinions

I like the looks of this Stahlhelm, it is a nice M1917 that appears to be original, although the liner and chin strap are dry, but they are there.

I think this shell is already over priced, especially if you add the shipping from Blighty (UK post can be a killer) It looks to have been lacquered some time in the past.

This Stirnpanzer looks OK, but the seller only shows photos of the front, I can not see any sign of casting, it looks forged, but one can not tell for sure with out holding it and hearing the "ring"

I am not a big fan of the camo helmets, but this one looks to be OK although not a very pretty one ( the real prety ones are usually the post war camos in my opinion)

I hope this helps a bit, best wishes
Gus

Andrew,
Most sellers have a return policy, but that needs to be sorted out with the seller before bidding. Chas has already mentioned Military bargins UK on another thread, we have several members who have been stung by this seller, I think all were able to return the dodgy items, but it took months for a refund, and postage it the loss of the buyer. Remember that postage from Europe and The UK can be very high, and there are some sellers that charge very high handeling fees as well.

Could you contact the stirnpanzer seller and ask him about a return policy? I wish I could but two things are stopping me: Ebay says I cant contact any more sellers (like what the heck?), and my knowledge of german is minimal (actually, none)

Andrew

Hey Andrew,
Sorry, I got called away, and did not get your request, but it is unlikely that one would have gotten a response with so short a time on the auction. The price reflects that most bidders suspected that this one was a reproduction. Where the seller did not show tha bnack of the plate I would have wanted to see mor photos before bidding. There are some good online translation services that will help you communicate with nonEnglish speaking sellers, I can not understand ebay limiting the number of question that you are allowed to ask.

Andrew you have to get onto actual Ebay .de to ask questions ,for some reason Ebay.ca will not re-connect you
I have had the same type problems . Find a translater on line for future questions .Shipping can be 25 to 50 euro's from europe .

I know... I tried the transator thing but eBay said "you have exceeded the imaximum number of messages you can send". I dont really understand it-if they want to make more money, they should let people ask the sellers questions! then more people will bid!
