Rare Versuchsmodel! :sad5: :sign3:

Kupberlin, Spikehelmets, Retnerkumpel, are amongst many other ebay user names he sells under.
He has never once sold a helmet which was anything like fully original. Just look at that,,, It's his audacity ,, what kind of collector would accept that as period, I ask you

It astonishes me how he can virtually clog the pickelhauben pages in Germany with so much junk and poor copies, Month after month,, No year after year, and yet sell practically nothing!.

How are the ebay dues paid.. It just can not balance out. I'm afraid I am at a complete loss as to how this seller can afford just to pay the listing fees. Are there deals Ebay offer to these people so they can do this?

And don't forget Ulan9, known for his rare and often fake items. It amazes me how this, and probably other sellers, have a feedback score of 100%.

some people can't tell an original from a fake and are happy with the fakes they buy... until they take them to a show and try to sell them. :-?

Even then, the desire to own a rare original---coupled with the pain of admitting to being duped--may lead some buyers to insist their bogus helmets are legitimate period pieces.

After all, anyone with a few bits of militaria and the money to rent a table at a show may be transformed into an expert.

Back in 1985 several such experts assured me that the WWI Italian cavalry sword I had was in fact a Confederate officer's saber.
One gentleman even generously offered his professional appraisal for "a mere 10% of its value." :-"
