I've never seen one quite like this before.

The parade eagle looks more like a pigeon.

Garde du Corps meets steampunk meets medieval!

And asking 1,100 Euros...

I've added a couple of shots in case the original listing disappears.

Dang. Still a repro, but based on real helmets. I stand corrected.

Foolish, but corrected.

These helmets, with sesame street's big bird on their top, do show up from time to time on ebay :p

Edwin

Does anyone on the forum own one of the helmets with the pigeon on top?

Own a Liebgendarm helmet? I WISH! (even with the "funny looking" eagle)

I find the demeaning comments about pigeons to be uncalled for, during the War, many pigeons served gallantly in the carrying of messages, saving many lives. Oh hell, who am I kidding, anyone who wore a helmet with a pigeon on it would probably get shot around here, they are filthy birds.

One pigeon was awarded the Croix de Guerre in 1918:

"In this last mission, Cher Ami delivered the message despite having been shot through the breast, blinded in one eye, covered in blood and with a leg hanging only by a tendon."

Respect.

There was more than one awarded a medal:)
