Gents,
Last April, I did not went to Ciney like Karel, but I drove last May with my wife to Arras.
Well, I did not have a lot of $$$ in my pocket too, but with some great help of a good friend living in the Nord Pas de Calais, I could purchase two beautiful rare birds there. \:D/ Both were a few years on my wanted list.
I do not want to forget to thank Bruno for being patient, comparing with his own helmets and answering the questions I had about this Haube.
Here is the first one, an EM JR115 Haube (the second bird will follow soon  ).
The shell of this JR115 is still in excellent shape, made of thick heavy leather. Well marked on rear visor with RBA18, maker marked Martin Mayer Mainz and dated 1915.
It has almost all characteristics of a war fabrication JR115 helmet:
- tight spike base (they were thicker on pre-war helmets)
- massive spike screw (they were hollow on peace time helmets)
Only the wappen is a pre war fabrication, which can be seen on the lions tails which are more distant and on the star (a very small line above the letters "OT" of the word GOTT. This fabrication mistake only appears on pre-war JR115 wappen).
Helmets interior is showing some wear and I am concluding this helmet was not part of the BA XVIII clothing depot captured by the US forces.
At last, a very small doubt about the chinstraps leather which real looks unissued, although the sewing exactly looks like the ones on original straps in my collection and although the buckles and attachments are looking genuine :-k
Enjoy!

Very nice helmet ,wonderful shape ,it’s the kind of helmet I would go for as well …in fact I bought the exact same helmet last week. :D

Thank you gents for your kind comments!
Francis, I can assure you the Missus came back with me to Germany 8-) But I must admit she only make her apparition at the "bourse militaria" together with my friends wife as the show closed  So we had plenty of time and tranquillity to look at the pointy stuff before 8)
And then, to secure the marital piece, there was an excellent China restaurant at the next corner :-" :-({|=

PS: :-$ the Missus would kill me if she could read these lines..... 8-[ 8-[ 8-[

It is a wise man who manages to keep the missus happy while purchasing hauben! That JR115 is excellent and well worth the extra cost of a Chinese meal. Congrats!
