Opinions on Wappen ??

This was brought to me earlier today. It appears to be fire guilt over brass, but I am concerned over the lack of detail...Opinions ?

I like the loops but do not like the detail and the thickness of the edges on the back.

Just tooooo shiny for my tatste. I sold a Prussian one of these as a repro on Ebay recently. Prior to that a fellow collector showed me 5 of these....all various officer plates. Brian

Hi Steve:

I have only two Württemberg Mannschaften Wappen to compare with yours: one from an Ersatz Tin "kit" helmet and one M15. However, a feature common to both is voided areas at 4 and 8 o'clock at the base of the Württ Coat of Arms. By comparison, your Wappen is only voided at 6 o'clock around the und.

I would expect this error in an electroformed copy but not an original die stamping. I have to agree with the "quorum."
