Pickelhaube cover with RED stamped Regimental number.
I have only seen red filt numbers and green stamped versions...
Thx for your opinion !

Hi,

Sorry, it´s a fake! BA XXVII never has existed... JR149 was part of the II AK (Armee Korps).
Further, helmet covers with red numbers did not have slots letting the chinstrap going through... I also do not like the texture of the cloth...

Not sure if I'm correct but... When I look at a cover I try to determine how the color was achieved. It seems to me that the original were made with cloth that was woven using individually dyed threads. While the majority of the fakes are made with cloth that was dyed as a sheet. This gives the fake a uniformed even color, while the originals have minor deviations within the color.
