Evenin' all,
I thought I would share with you an original 1914 german mobilization piece. I am not sure if it was included in a newspaper since it is only about 12 x 20 inches, or it was some sort of poster. Anyway, if my German is correct, I believe it reads:
Mobilization
Berlin, 1st August (telegram) The Kaiser has 'ordered (?)' the mobilization of the army and navy.
The first day of mobilization is the 2nd of August.
This was a surprise to me when I acquired a few early war papers off of ebay. It wasn't pictured or named in the auction at all, and I do believe it is original based upon paper type, its aging, printing, etc. I compared it to some other original war time newspapers, and it looks authentic. But if any body knows anything else about please let me know.
