Original or reproduction?

Recently I have found an old pickelhaube. I wonder is it original or reproduction?
After a research I still cannot decide to buy it or not.
The seller says it’s original.

I'm sorry to say that this is unfortunately a very bad reproduction. Please stay away from the purchase.
You can see the eagle is of very poor quality and the spikebase doesn't even have separate pins to attach it to the shell.

I wonder where my post is? Seems I pressed the wrong button. I wanted to change something, because I was posting from my iPhone and thought it was a copy of a leather helmet but then my iPhone went dark and the post was gone..
Anyway, even if this should be an Ersatz-Pickelhaube from metal I haven’t seen one in such a poor quality. But I haven’t seen many Ersatz-Pickelhauben from metal, so other for members could help better I think.

I think it is a genuine metal Pickelhaube, Sandmann, with the faux bolt heads pressed on the spike basis. What is the black stuff that has been spread on the shell? You are correct regarding condition. Awful.

This is an original RVDH manufacturer tin ersatz kit pickelhaube. The helmet is original, but someone messed with it throughout the years by painting it. Looks like it would be a great candidate for a restoration.

It looks like all the main parts are there too.

Agree with Pontiac, well worth restoring. I would buy it with no qualms - except regretting that damaged liner.

The paint makes it harder to tell about the spike, but it still looks correct.

I really never stop learning here. But I really don't know much about Ersatz-Pickelhauben, so please excuse my incorrect assessment Obama. On my phone I thought it was a bad leather helmet first. I am always amazed at how different the quality of these war productions is and how bad it was sometimes.
Is the eagle with the screw also original? The legs are are almost flat, I've really never seen anything like that, and I spent some time today looking specifically for tin helmets to improve my knowledge.

Some of the originals had screws. Im sure it would be an archaic type of thread however...
