Chas,

Is this on the level? I would also assume that this is Andy Beal, same style of listing. I am a little wary after the 'Tin Tschapkagate' scandal of recent times.

Mike

Hi Mike:

You can consider this monstrosity an addendum to Tschapkagate. Any guesses as to who might have made it?

Chas. :x

lets not get personal again opinions should be kept to yourself , what you think and what other people think are too different matters ,like the new forum layout great job who ever has done all the hard work

The star seems to be about 30% too large when compared to one that I have and the liner does not conform to the liners in my model 1915 Tsapkas. I also question whether one should expect to find a star on a 1915 Garde Tsapka.

gsm7, the purpose of the forum is to provide a place for the exchange of opinions. It is especially nice when opinions are backed up with sound arguments. In example, your opinion of the Dragoon pick on this forum would be much more helpful if supported by your reasons for making such a statement.

quote ,we know who made this piece of s*** ,read between the lines as they say ,

Dear Sir gsm7,
I have to do four comments regarding your intervention:
1) here in Brazil we have an expression: " Se a carapuça serviu..." (If the hood served...)
2) you need to be correct in that you writes, it's not " they " but " me " who wrote that.
3) forgives me for my answer "we know who made this piece of s*** ", but the problem is that you irritate me. You are not participating in this forum in a constructive way. Your only purpose is of verifying if we are attentive to that happens in eBay with some sellers not very correct, and to learn with the experienced people of this forum (I don't include myself in this category, I am a beginner).
4) and last: Leave the anonymity.

Gary:

You might practice what you preach.

Both you and I know that Tschapka is a poor counterfeit. Perhaps you did not make it with your own hands, but I'm certain you know who did.

Furthermore, you generally post when you feel something we have written might have a deleterious effect on one of these auctions.

As for getting personal, you may not appreciate what Otto wrote, but at least he had the conviction and fortitude to say what he really thinks. I can't disagree with him.

The poor unfortunate who buys that Tschapka (provided it sells) will have invested in what? The fact you don't give a rat's ass about it, yet cry foul every time your ego is bruised speaks volumes.

If you think I'm "getting personal," I can assure you I'm only warming up.

Chas.

you keep calling these but never bought one ? its seems to me this is a forum where theres a big click ,and you need to take your head out of your butt and read my feedback ,anyone who reads this please go to ebay and read my feedback and tell me these know alls are right ,dont think so ,you will find some great comments as for this ask laurie he bought one and was very happy with it as i remember , seems to me im not the kind of guy who is wanted here pity really i could have helped out

if you guys just put something like this is a copy ,fake etc that would be fine ,just dont call it s*** until you see it close up ,nothing is electro formed it is all hand made and as i said read my feedback ,i help as many people as i can out of buying them if there selling as real but im chasing my tail .no doubt this sagar will continue ,as for irritating you that says it all

Gary:

If there was a clique here, do you think you would still be around?

If I understand you correctly, no one is allowed to comment on one of your helmets until they have bought one. Who appointed you dictator of this forum? Do you really think I care about your eBay feedback?

Your feedback here stinks!

Through your own stupid remarks you have as much admitted you made the Tschapka. Andy Beal is selling it as original. It seems to me your are an accessory to the fraud before, during, and after the fact.

I am cautioning you here and now that what you are doing is a crime. The FTC and FCC prosecute people like you. Do you really think it wise to continue with your rant?

Chas.

i dont sell to andy beal never have ,i dont know who he buys them off it aint me , i think im wasting my time here ,if you see any of mine or think they are as real i will tell you ,they could also be reported to ebay , lets leave it as that, i sell for what they are and dont agree with people who list them as real but like i said im chasing my tail ,what have i done wrong to get this hassle? ,think time is over here wasting time yours and mine ,

Chaps,

The real issue here is that Gary's items are being passed off as the genuine item by other parties. Gary declares them as reproductions in his listings but other sellers, Andy Beal in particular, seems to have a large supply of them and is attempting to pass them off as genuine. I also note that the same seller appears to be buying repro Turkish/Freikorps pattern M1918 pattern steel helmets from IMA and sells them as 'repainted originals'. The same seller also has a lot of good quality genuine items so I am not sure what the story is.

The question for Gary is: Are you involved in this scam?

Hi All,
It is interesting that if these helmets were made by Gary, he should be happy that they are being discussed here, as it says something about the high quality of his work. If Gary is offended, he shold not be, I think the critisism is really about the discription by the seller. We can not stop people from making reproductions, as there is to much of a demand, and we will never be able to get ebay to take responsability for allowing people to sell fakes (the difference between a reproduction and a fake is the seller's discription) because all ebay cares about is making money.
Best wihses
Gus

i have no connection or any profit to many people who sell helmets of ours as real ,if i did wouldnt i sell them as real , you can by a repro from 99gbp of me same sells as real for 300gbp ,what can i do even shops on ebay in usa have sold them never heard of them ,if anyone knows me you will know im very happy to help out anyone if they ask ,i provide a service to some people who are rich enough to pay the price of a real one , i have helped many people who ask , just would like to say a big thankyou to the guys who have stood back and read this proper and know its the seller who sells as real whos at fault not me 3 or 4 times down the line who sells it for a repro if they were that bad they wouldnt even get a bid in many thx gsm7

Latest Update:

eBay said:
The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing.

I wonder how he found out? It would appear the coincidences are piling up higher than the alibis.

Chas.
