NCO Asst.Master Sargeant (later 1st Lt.) Hafız Macid Efendi during WW1. He was KIA in 1920 during Tuırkish War of Liberation.

The pic must have taken in middle 1930's. The Master sergeant (Başçavuş) Ahmet Efendi veteran of many wars, shot this pix for the anniversary of a national day. He wears the kalpak of National Forces during 1919-22 period. He has his başçavuş apolette from the ottoman period (1912-19) and the uniform (1930-47) Shortly a mixture of military of different periods.
