Any comments appreciated, the spike looks new to me.

I agree on the spike and the base. What is also different is the "thickness" of the lion in the wappen. Compare.

What is the fuzzy pic of the interior trying to show?
 
The wappen is also missing most of the sword....didn't a very rough pickelhaube with this very same wappen sell recently on Flea-bay.de ?

the Uhlan 9 disscussion,s have been brought up by either wiser collectors as a warning and new ones asking questions of the quality .
ge seems to sell or post for sale many items that are not correct or cobbled together .

Wow! This thing is being passed around everywhere, nobody wants it. Some people must make a living out of buying and selling on Ebay with NO interests at all in the item there moving!

A very beautiful and untouched helmet now, but if Ulan wins...poor helmet :x

I agree, a nice old beauty. Heavy construction by the looks of it. Just the kind of project that gives a lot of satisfaction by restoring things back to their original condition. Unfortunately, I will never lay hands on it. Brian
