I think there were 15 units that were entitled to a white parade bush combined with silver helmet fittings.
Hard to say which one of them it's associated with.

Wow ! waht a wunderfull Bavarian Officer ! Thank you for showing.

The Trichter of my Paradebusch is white colored and have a circle of pearls at the top...

Hello,
have you got a list, of these units or is there some book where I can study ? That would be very interesting.

Best regards Mike

-this is Yack hair. [Himalayan]
Officers.
-horse hair. Other Ranks.

I would say this book: Imperial German Headgear [1888-1914] Field Guide. By James D. TURINETTI-Jn. Albert O'CONNOR

Thank`s a lot ! I will try to get this book.
I´m realy new at this "Paradebusch" topic ( and my english is very basic ) They are realy had different hairs for Officers and other ranks ? White Yack hair and horse hair look pretty much the same !? But it is the german army... they would do something like this.

Best regards

Steve is correct
I think that Laine 's book would show you the regiments
with white hair bush
Steve

And...white Haarbusch on the White metal Trichter/support. Smooth or fluted.
-Yack hair is so much tinner and a bit wavy.

Thank you for the information. I think about to restore the "Busch" carefully.I´m not sure how to handle the hair... ?

Best regards

I think I used the wrong words. I think about to fix the Busch a little. Because the Hair is very tousled. Perhaps there is a way to "combig" it ?
I want the hair like it was bevore.

Best regards

ok this is not for the faint of heart but it has worked for me and I know Brian Loree has used this as well. PLEASE check with him to confirm before trying.

But I use Baby water and shampoo on the hair, and then brush it out, you will lose some but it cleans the hair and allows for it to be straightened out....

Mike:

I don't have a list as such. I use a database containing a record for every unit in the Imperial Army as of August 1914 that I can run queries on to answer questions such as "create a list of all the units that were entitled to wear parade bushes" then I filter that list by "create a list of all those units that wore silver fittings", then "create a list of all those units that wore the Pickelhaube as their head dress". Then I ran a query to "create a list of those units that wore white parade bushes".

Sounds complicated but it took about 30 seconds to identify the 15 units. The trick is you have to spend the time to design the database and then labouriously key in the data in the fields you want to sort by.

No, you don't need to be a programmer to create a database. It's not that hard to do. You will need access to some good reference books to use the correct data. KAGGR#1 suggested Laine's book which is a very good reference.

PM me and I'll send you the list I came up with.

Cheers:

Steve

Baby shampoo by Johnson and Johnson, warm water. Horse hair is much coarser and easier to do. The one I did years ago was a white one from a Bavarian officer helmet. I would think long and hard about this before trying it, you will lose hair. If you watch movies of military parades from this era these things are blowing all over the place in a wind. They must have been a problem even then.

I think it’s Bavarian, but I found these troops who wore a white hairbush with a smooth silver funnel:
  • Flügeladjutanten des Kaisers oder der Prinzen
  • Berittene Mannschaften des I. und II. Bataillons des 1. Garde-Regiments zu Fuß
  • Grenadier-Regiment „Königin Olga“ Nr. 119 (1. Württembergisches)
  • Garde-Dragoner-Regiment „Kaiserin Alexandra von Rußland“ Nr. 2
  • Leib-Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 20 (1. Badisches)
  • Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 21 (2. Badisches)
  • Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 22 (3. Badisches)
  • Dragoner-Regiment „Königin Olga“ Nr. 25 (1. Württembergisches)
  • Schwere Reiter-Regiment „Prinz Karl v. Bayern“ Nr. 1 (1. Bayerisches)
  • Chevauleger-Regiment „Taris“ Nr. 2 (2. Bayerisches)
  • Chevauleger-Regiment „König“ Nr. 4 (4. Bayerisches)
  • Chevauleger-Regiment „Prinz Albrecht v. Preußen“ Nr. 6 (6. Bayerisches)
  • Chevauleger-Regiment Nr. 8 (8. Bayerisches)
  • Das I. und II. Battalion des (Leib-)Grenadier-Reg. Nr. 109 (1. Badisches)

Hello Steve,
Thank you for the detailed answer. It's great if you can access a database like this. It definitely takes a long time and you have to study a lot of books to create something like that.
Until recently I mainly collected German Army 33' to 45'. I have a very good selection of specialist books for this era. I am a beginner for the Imperial period and WW1 and am just starting to get the relevant literature. I currently have the campaign books by Michael Baldwind and books by Jürgen Kraus. Plus contemporary literature. I still have a lot to add, I know.
Thank you for offering to search with your database. I'll write a PM
