This helmet was brought back by a family member after the war and was complete. The chin strap is a reproduction as the helmet hung for years by its strap in an attic. Helmet is dated 1916 and is marked for PB7 and has a maker's mark (my eyes are not good enough to make out the maker. These stamps are all on the crown of the helmet. On the inside of the helmet's front is an "X" in blue pencil and the number "3" in regular pencil. The Wappen, spike, spike split pins and the original chin strap are made of nickel silver. The spike is a non-removable. The rest of the fittings on the helmet are grey metal. The body of the helmet is leather, but I'm not sure of the front and rear visors. The visors are finished black on both sides, which leads me to think they may be some other material.
