Good for you Chris! These are absolutely my favorite forms of headgear. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this example. Textbook. For the unit, go HERE and search for all the units with a red Kolpak and silver Bandeau. I can list them from memory, but what fun would that be?

Hi Chris:
Congrats on this fine example. Have you checked under the red kolpak for unit markings? My Saxon is unit marked both on the interior and under the kolpak. The kolpak is fastened to the top using a springy piece of circular wire which is stitched into the cloth. I had no idea that it came off easily until Tony visited me one time and showed me how to remove it. Mine is clearly stamped to HR 20 underneath. Brian

Thanks for the info. Searched everywhere. Can't find any marks at all. He much have been with an anonymous unit.
