Pickelhaube Baden Leib-Grenadier-Regiment Nr.109

Helmut Weitze has one for sale that also bears a white reserve cross:

Unfortunately, as he says himself, first a prussian helmet remounted as a 109 helmet...Bad for me, the fixation of the Reserve cross too....Bad feeling [-X

Philippe, look at Jim Turinetti's guide "The Reserve/Landwehr Kreuz of the Imperial German Army" p.45. He clearly describes "Two configurations for the placement of the LWK on the (R109) helmet plate", one of which is on the side of the scroll, just like on Weitze's helmet. This is illustrated with a picture of an R109 officer helmet with a "lateral cross".

Thank you Bruno, never heard about that before 8-[
However, if the wappen is good on Weitze´s helmet, I am pretty sure it has been resoldered at the back to fit in the holes of this helmet, which are "prussian holes". There are no double holes and just look at the distance between them: too small for a 109 griffin plate....And you can easily see some traces of a prussian eagle plate at the front, between the wings and the head of the griffin :-&
