Hello all,

i got this Pickelhaube and i saw they are 4 closed holes in the frontplate, anyone knows what was clipped?

Four pins is very common. You can find Landwehrkreuz with two pins, four pins, two on the top, two on the side, I even saw a Kreuz with one pin top left and one pin bottom right. It all depends on who made it.

Four pins is very common. You can find Landwehrkreuz with two pins, four pins, two on the top, two on the side, I even saw a Kreuz with one pin top left and one pin bottom right. It all depends on who made it.

Take a look at the Hessian pickelhaube on the Age of Kings site, you'll see that there was a cross on the plate and that the holes are for the 'arm' on the left and bottom as you look at the plate, so four attachment points would be a good thing.
