Hi guys,

There is this Hannoverian Kurassier metalhelme, but I had browsed through some books and couldnt find any reference of the existence of a hannoverian Kurassier Rgt. The helmet appears to be theolder version (1867 and before, I guess).
Could it be that there WAS a Hannoverian Kurassier Rgr during the 1867 era and it was absorbed into the Prussian army? Or this thing is just a fake?

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly sure I've read somewhere about a Hanovarian Garde du Corps regiment. Perhaps someone else may have the correct information.

There is a photo on an exemple in Larcade book, Vol 2 , so it can be an authentic helmet , who knows.. according to the book :
The units mentioned are (before 1866) a Brigade with an Hannoverian Garde du Corps Regiment, and a Garde Kürassier regiment.
The style of this helmet is copied from the Prussian Kürassier helmet M1843 , and adopted in 1849. The shell is not produced with the same manner as for the Prussian helmet , there are 2 half-shells soldered together. The star of St Georges display a dragon and a saint ,and have the devise "Nunquam Retrorsum", and a "banderole" with the motto : Peninsula -Garzia Hernandez- Waterloo , because these 2 regiments had the traditions of the ancients regts of the KGL in the years 1812-1815.
Now concerning the Helmet on Ebay, it seems good for me at least for the Wappen and shell, inside ,the paint and maybe the leather look strange, (my 2 cents ...)
Sorry for the bad english, I hope it can help !
